With over 10 years experience at all kinds of events including birthdays, weddings, festivals, corporate funtions and gala cabaret shows, Kalikah is a seasoned professional who will add a unique point of difference to your event, so that it’s remembered for years to come! Bellydance soloists in Australia are usually booked for sets of no longer than 20 minutes. This allows us to entertain our audiences, provide a memorable show and keep you wanting more.
What makes me unique to any other bellydancer in your area?
I have a completely unique look & aesthetic to any other dancer in Australia. I am commonly known within the Australian community as a performer who always surprises, presenting performances that are compelling, unexpected yet still accessible and entertaining. I’m known for my exquisite costumes, made by myself by hand, which are irreplaceable and absolutely unique. I have trained with Masters of the art, both classic and contemporary in styling, and have taken my diverse training to develop my own unique fusion style. I generally use contemporary Middle Eastern influenced Western music in my sets, though I can perform to authentic Middle Eastern music at request.
What do other clients say?
The most common comment I receive from audience members and clients alike is: ‘I have seen lots of bellydance in my time, but NEVER like what you do!’ Punters are often astonished that you can in fact combine music and styling outside of what’s considered ‘traditional’ bellydance, to be entertained on an entirely different level!
What happens when you book Kalikah?
Once you have picked out your performance package, you will be required to pay a nonrefundable deposit of 20% to confirm the booking. Once this payment has cleared I will be in touch via email to discuss your requirements – this involves confirming any themes for the event, and choosing which prop(s) you’d like me to use in the performance.
When we have finalized choices I will send through an invoice for the remainder of the amount due 2 weeks before the event, detailing exactly the acts/themes we agreed upon.
At the event I will arrive 15-20 minutes early to change/prep my costume and props and warm up. Once I have finished my set and refreshed myself, I will stay back and socialize with your guests for up to 20 minutes after, for photo opportunities. I usually carry business cards and am happy to leave some with the host for any enquiries or feedback. So potentially I may be present at the event for 1-1.5 hours depending on the requirements.
My performance fee is a reflection of my experience, years of training, and also covers time & costs for stage makeup, rehearsals, costuming, music and travel time within 30 min of the Adelaide CBD. If you wish options outside of my standard prices I can tailor a package to suit your budget and requirements.
